Strictly Come Dancing fans were shocked when Dianne Buswell and Max George became the latest couple to leave the BBC One show on Sunday.

On Sunday they were put in the dance-off with EastEnders star Maisie Smith and her dancing partner Gorka Marquez.

Craig Revel Horwood and Anton du Beke voted to save Maisie so they were sent home.

But it’s not all been bad news for the 32-year-old The Wanted singer as his axing has meant he can finally reunite with his girlfriend Stacey Giggs.

The star posted a sweet snap of the two of them holding hands while laying in bed as they were finally able to put an end to their weeks of separation while Max quarantined during filming for the BBC show.

He shared the loving picture on his Instagram Story with the caption: “Finally.”

Max and sweetheart Stacey – who used to be married to footballer Ryan Giggs – had been living apart so that he can compete in the series amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Ahead of his axing, Max revealed he’d installed a camera at the dance studio that he and Dianne Buswell were practicing in so Stacey could keep an eye on him.

It came after reports emerged earlier this month that Max's long-term partner warned the singer to tone down his flirting before he appeared on the show as she was concerned about the Strictly curse.

It has been reported that Stacey was keen for her other half to be partnered with a married dancer.

A source told The Sun : "Stacey made it crystal clear she wanted to know who Max would be partnered with from the start.

"It became well known early on that she was incredibly nervous about who he would be paired with. Stacey said she wanted someone with a good reputation and said the curse had played on her mind."

While another insider told new! magazine: "Max is a terrible flirt and very cheeky. There's definite chemistry between him and Dianne, but she is a total professional.

"Stacey apparently read Max the riot act before he went on the show and has now given him another warning, so he knows he can't cross the line.

"Max is a very lovable guy and women are drawn to him. He's got that charm."

Max and Stacey were introduced by a mutual friend two years ago and started dating last year.

The couple moved in together and he has formed a close bond with her two children, Libby, 17, and Zach, 13, who she shares with ex-husband, Manchester United legend Ryan.
