Mason Greenwood has returned to training at Manchester United after missing their final match before the international break.
The 19-year-old was not in the squad for the 3-1 win at Goodison Park, with United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer citing illness before the teenager was given the following week off to recover.
Greenwood has been back at United’s training headquarters at Carrington this week as he builds up his match-fitness after two weeks without a game. Solskjaer’s players on international duty are due back towards the end of the week when he will assess which players could face West Bromwich Albion on Saturday evening.
Gareth Southgate overlooked Greenwood for an England recall after dropping him last month for having female guests in the team hotel in Iceland, breaking Covid-19 safety guidelines.
He was not on Under-21 duty either, which was a decision made after talks between Southgate and Solskjaer, according to Aidy Boothroyd.
Greenwood started the final eight Premier League games of last season but has only started three so far this season, with his only other start coming in the Champions League when he scored against RB Leipzig at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer hopes Alex Telles will be available to face West Brom after the left-back tested negative for Covid-19. The Brazilian Football Confederation said the 27-year-old has returned a second negative test and he will be in the frame to step in for Luke Shaw after he was rule out for a month with a hamstring problem.
Paul Pogba has no fitness problems after starting all three games for France during the international break.
"I know him, I know how he works. He has pride and above all he has talent,” said France manager Didier Deschamps. “When you have to defend, he can defend. When he has the opportunity to express himself, he is able to do so. Paul is a top-level player and I hope what he did with us will be useful to him when he gets back to his club."
