After months of anticipation, the PlayStation 5 will finally go on sale in the UK tomorrow.

The console went on sale in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea last week.

However, British gamers were forced to wait an extra week, with the console only becoming available from November 19.

In honour of the launch, the London Underground signs at Oxford Circus station have been transformed into PlayStation icons.

The classic red circular logos now show a blue X, a green triangle, and pink square and a red circle – just like the icons on the PS5 controller!

Many fans were quick to notice the placement of the signs right outside rival Microsoft's flagship store.

The PlayStation 5 will go in direct competition with Microsoft's Xbox Series X, which went on sale last week.

If you’re hoping to get the PlayStation 5 when it finally launches in the UK tomorrow, it’s important to note that no units will be available in-store for purchase on November 19.

Sid Shuman, Senior Director, SIE Content Communications, said: “No units will be available in-store for purchase on launch day (November 12 or November 19, depending on your region) – please don’t plan on camping out or lining up at your local retailer on launch day in hopes of finding a PS5 console for purchase.
