Beverley Callard was caught telling a little white lie during Monday night’s explosive instalment of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!.

The 63-year-old is best known for playing the iconic character Liz McDonald in Coronation Street, but during the late 1990s she also found success with the release of her first fitness video.

I'm A Celebrity viewers were stunned to learn about Beverley’s career outside of the long-running ITV soap after she lifted the lid about her majorly successful fitness video, Rapid Results.

The much-loved soap star proudly told her campmates that Rapid Results was such a success that it knocked the film Heat, which starred Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, off the top of the charts.

Chatting in the Bush Telegraph, Beverley gave more insight into her love of fitness.

“I love fitness, I love teaching it and I’ve done it for 40 odd years? Which is scary in itself,” she said.

“I still teach classes; I still teach three a week!”

Back in the camp, Radio One DJ Jordan North recalled his mum being ‘obsessed’ with Beverley’s fitness videos while he was growing up.

This prompted the actress to proudly delve into the official chart success of Rapid Results after she claimed it reached number one on the UK video charts.

However, eagle-eyed fans did some snooping after Monday night’s episode and found that Beverly’s iconic recording was prevented from reaching the top spot by Disney’s Toy Story, leaving her at number two in January 1997.

Taking to Twitter, they shared their thoughts on Beverely’s little fib.

“Maybe it was number one in Scotland. Lol!” one user quipped in a call back to Jessica Plummer's brag that her girl band Neon Jungle had reached No.1 in the Scottish charts with their single Braveheart.

Another pointed out: “In Bev's defense, it was over 20 years ago and time can play tricks on one's memory.”

“Awh bless her, I wonder does she know it was actually Toy Story though? Haha!” a third remarked.

In 1996, Beverley's first fitness video, Real Results did reach number one on the video charts, so it's possible that she got the years mixed up.

Mirror Online have contacted Bevereley's representatives for comment.
