Alison Hammond covered for Holly Willoughby on This Morning today as she hosted alongside Phillip Schofield today.
The 45-year-old, who was recently confirmed as one of the stars replacing Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on Fridays, made a surprise appearance on the show.
However, the show failed to explain Holly's disappearance other than saying that she was having a "day off".
Introducing the show today, Alison said: "It's Alison who's standing in for Holly, who's having a well-deserved day off today."

Alison and Phil went on to decorate a huge Christmas tree outside the studio with a few large baubles.
But fans were still left incredibly concerned and took to Twitter to comment.
Holly Willoughby didn't appear on This Morning today
One tweeted: "Where tf is holly #ThisMorning much as I think alison rocks but we need holly."
While another questioned: "Where’s Holly? #ThisMorning."
A third remarked: "Oh noo where’s Holly #ThisMorning."
Another commented: "So holly is having a well deserved day off?… after having all of the summer off… pretty sure people working through the pandemic would love a well deserved day off but who am I."
"So holly is just having a day off… something's not right here," another speculated.
This comes just days after the news that Ruth and Eamonn would be dropped from their Friday slot after 14 years.
The pair will be replaced by Alison and X Factor host Dermot O'Leary, while Ruth and Eamonn will only cover Holly and Phil during the holidays.
