But injured Loftus-Cheek poked fun at his former Blues pal – who spent four-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge – claiming he must have edited the photo.
Fabregas' post has already been liked over 130,000 times – and he captioned it: "What is the definition of success?"
But rather than answer the question, the England midfielder – passing the time while he recovers from his Achilles injury – replied: “Abs are photoshopped."
Chelsea fans went mad for the social media love-in, with one calling the exchange "absolute quality".
Meanwhile, Loftus-Cheek recently revealed he has been leaning on the fans heavily to keep him positive during his lengthy injury lay-off.
The Chelsea man has been out of action since rupturing his Achilles in a friendly against New England Revolution in May.
And speaking on how he's coped, Loftus-Cheek revealed: “The big side of injuries is the mental side of it, so I had to stay positive and keep the right mind set.
"Even a tweet or a message from a fan makes a big difference to me."
Loftus-Cheek went on to reveal he's had a few setbacks along the way, but is finally pain-free.
He added: "I’ve actually had a few setbacks that have put me behind which has been quite frustrating to be honest.
