Ex-Arsenal star Serge Gnabry becomes fastest player in Germany history to score 10 goals taking just 11 games

SERGE GNABRY has become the fastest player to score 10 goals for Germany since the country was unified in 1990.

The Bayern Munich star – who destroyed Tottenham with four goals in the 7-2 Champions League demolition a fortnight ago – struck twice in the 2-2 draw with Argentina last night to achieve the stunning feat.

Gnabry has achieved this feat in just 11 games.

It took Miroslav Klose, the next quickest, 13 caps to get to 10 goals for his country.

Despite being a winger, Gnabry has been in incredible goalscoring form.

Here's Gnabry's goals and who he scored them against

Vs Argentina – 2 Goals, Drew 2-2

Vs Northern Ireland – 1 Goal, Won 2-0

Vs Holland – 1 Goal, Lost 4-2

Vs Estonia – 2 Goals, Won 8-0

Vs Russia – 1 Goal, Won 3-0

Vs San Marino – 3 Goals, Won 8-0

The 24-year-old is set to play a key role in Germany's attempts to win Euro 2020 next year.

He has now scored four goals already for his country in three matches this season.

Before last night's double in the friendly against Argentina, he struck on September 6 in the 4-2 defeat against Holland in the European Championship qualifier.

In June, he grabbed two in the 8-0 destruction of Estonia in a qualifier.

It was back in November 2016 that he burst onto the scene in a World Cup qualifier, scoring a hat-trick in an 8-0 rout of minnows San Marino.

It's a far cry from when he was sent to West Brom on loan by Arsene Wenger.

Gnabry became only the 11th player in history to get a 10 out of 10 rating from French newspaper L'Equipe after his stunning performance against Spurs.

Since returning to Germany in 2016, he has scored 33 goals in the Bundesliga, including 10 on a season-long loan at Hoffenheim in 2017/18.

But his progress at Munich this season, is now making the world take notice, building on the 18 goals he got for club and country last term.

The record for most goals by a Germany international was the 13 that Gottfried Fuchs got in his six caps between 1907 and 1913.

Gnabry is the quickest to 10 goals since 1977 when Klaus Fischer scored 10 in his first eight caps for what was then called West Germany.

Germany was divided into East and West after the Second World War, finally unified in 1990.
