Dele Alli axed from England squad for Euro 2020 qualifiers as Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori called up by Gareth Southgate

DELE ALLI has been axed from Gareth Southgate's England squad but Chelsea duo Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori have both earned call ups.

Fellow midfielder Jesse Lingard and former teammate defender Kyle Walker have also been left out for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Bulgaria.

Walker was axed by manager Southgate for the previous two matches against Bulgaria and Kosovo.

Right-back Kieran Trippier has been starring for Atletico Madrid, was watched by England assistant Steve Holland against rivals Real at the weekend.

And the 29-year-old has kept his place alongside Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Meanwhile Alli, who started for Spurs as they were thrashed 7-2 against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, has only just returned from injury and has not done enough to get back into Southgate’s squad.

There is also no space for Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who was forced to miss the 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Monday through illness.

Everton midfielder Fabian Delph has been recalled, but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has also been left out after struggling for game-time at Merseyside rivals Liverpool this season.
