ANDY CARROLL has admitted he needed to google his new team-mates during a whirlwind move to Liverpool.
The striker confirmed a long-standing rumour he had no idea who he would be sharing a dressing room with after agreeing a British-record £35million switch from Newcastle in 2011.

Ex-England star Carroll confessed to hardly following football as a fan, which left him in the dark about the A-list stars like Luis Suarez and Pepe Reina waiting at Anfield.
Geordie Carroll came clean after rejoining his home-town club on a one-year deal.
The targetman, 30, said: “That rumour’s actually true.
“When I was here, I’d go home, mess about with my mates, play football, go out, whatever, but I’d never watch football. I never knew any players.
“I’d come in on the Friday or wake up on the Saturday morning saying, ‘Who are we playing?’
“I was completely oblivious to all the football that was going on.
“When I was in the helicopter to Liverpool, I was like, ‘I know Stevie G, I know Carragher. Who else?’
“My agent at the time had to tell me and I would get it on Google and find out the team. It’s bad because it’s Liverpool players, but it’s not disrespectful — I just literally didn’t watch football.”

Carroll left St James’ Park for Anfield on January 31, 2011 — just as he was about to sign a new deal with the club he had been with since the age of seven.
He said: “It was mad. I went to see the gaffer and next thing I knew I was in a helicopter to Liverpool.
“I wasn’t ready at all but things happen like that.
“It was like a whirlwind. I was happy, just about to sign a new deal and the next day I was gone.
“I’d just bought a house and, believe it or not, I’d just got a cat.
“I never went back to the house — my brother had to have the cat.”
Carroll says he has grown up since becoming a dad and settling down with partner Billi Mucklow.
He is sleeping in his old bedroom at his parents’ house after making a deadline-day switch from West Ham back to Newcastle.
The forward added: “I was daft when I was here before and no doubt I was daft for a couple of years after as well.

“But I met my missus and we’ve got four kids at home now. There’s no more behaviour like before.
“I was stupid, I was young, and I was carried away with the lifestyle.
“Now it’s completely different. I’m a dad, I’ve grown up and got responsibilities. I’ve got a purpose.”
