ANTHONY JOSHUA’S attempt to regain his lost world heavyweight titles will be a modern equivalent of Muhammad Ali’s superfights.
That is the claim of promoter Eddie Hearn ahead of AJ’s fight with Andy Ruiz after June’s shock IBF, WBO and WBA demolition.

The rematch has been confirmed for Saudi Arabia on December 7.
The decision to stage the ‘Clash on the Dunes’ on the outskirts of Riyadh has been condemned by human rights groups including Amnesty International.
But Matchroom chief Hearn, who insisted Ruiz and his management team have “100 per cent signed the contracts” side-stepped the questions.
Hearn said: “You can talk about the events of the past — the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ or the ‘Thrilla in Manila’.
"I put this in the same kind of area. Not just for what it’s doing for the country but as an event.

Pressed on the human rights issues, Hearn added: “We have seen Formula E, golf’s European Tour, the Italian Super Cup and WWE there.
“We knew that not every response would be positive — but sometimes the curiosity will lead to an event of an extraordinary magnitude.”
