MANCHESTER UNITED are set to miss out on Harry Maguire as neighbours City are closing on a world-record £80million deal for the Leicester star, according to reports.
The Red Devils were ready to spend big in order to sign Maguire, 26, and end their year-long search of a world-class centre-back.

But the Mirror report that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won't get his man as City are set to win the battle for the Leicester ace, who is reportedly determined to play under Pep Guardiola.
The Premier League champions have to break the bank for the Foxes star, who penned a new five-year deal at King Power Stadium last September.
City will reportedly pay Leicester £80m, a world-record fee for a defender.
Liverpool have held the mantle since 2018, when they splashed £75m on Virgil van Dijk.
Maguire is also expected to earn a whopping £280,000-a-week at the Etihad.
Guardiola considers the centre-back the perfect candidate to fill the shoes of City icon Vincent Kompany.
