Tanguy Ndombele also attracted interest from Juventus, Manchester United and Manchester City
Tottenham are getting closer to signing 22-year-old Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to Sky in Italy.
The France international had been linked with a move to Juventus, while Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas also confirmed that both Manchester United and Manchester City had made enquiries.
Aulas had urged Juventus to formalise their interest, insisting he would sell to them if “all offers were the same”, but Spurs are now understood to be closing in on the player.
Tottenham have been searching for a replacement for Mousa Dembele, who left the club in January for Chinese club Guangzhou R&F.
Ndombele joined Lyon from Amiens in August 2017 on an initial loan deal and impressed during his debut campaign, racking up 50 appearances in all competitions.
He completed a permanent move to the Groupama Stadium last summer and was rewarded for his continued fine form with a call up to the France national team last October.
