Aberdeen have confirmed on-loan Watford defender Tommie Hoban will miss the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.

Hoban joined the club in the summer after recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee but faces another spell on the sidelines after his studs caught in the turf in the 2-2 draw with St Mirren at Pittodrie on Saturday.

The 25-year-old, who has made nine appearances for Aberdeen this season, also missed much of the first half of this term with a shoulder injury that required surgery.
