And now they could be spurned in any attempt to bring in Rodriguez – with the Colombian's foster father hinting he is prepared to fight it out at Bayern Munich.
The 27-year-old is entering the final six months of a two-year loan at the German club from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
He has found game-time a struggle at the Allianz Arena, not starting a match since November 3.

Speaking to Marca, Juan Carlos Restrepo said: "He is comfortable in Munich.
"I don't have news about it, but there may be offers based on those rumours coming from England.
"He is calm and he feels that he's at a good level again and that he's physically strong.
"That gives us a perspective that he is happy, motivated and working well, as he is eager to achieve new success.
