JOSE MOURINHO was strong-armed into signing Paul Pogba by Old Trafford chiefs.
Manchester United bought the French midfield superstar because of his commercial value — and clawed back the £89million fee in just SIX months.

Those stunning revelations come from Mourinho’s adviser, Eladio Parames.
Parames, 69, has known Old Trafford chief Mourinho since he was a child and was the Special One’s press officer when he was at Benfica.
He also discloses how United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward snubbed Mourinho’s plea to sign a ‘terrier’ midfielder in the mould of Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante or Blaise Matuidi of Juventus.
In his weekly column for Portuguese paper ‘Record’, Parames — who describes himself as “the former spokesman for the best coach in the world but never his former friend” — lifts the lid on the Pogba controversy at United.
The France World Cup winner has featured for just 15 minutes in the club’s last two matches, following his dismal display in the 2-2 draw at Southampton.

SunSport revealed how Mourinho branded Pogba “a virus that is infecting the whole team” after the Saints draw 11 days ago.
And Parames hinted Mourinho is playing the 25-year-old on Wednesday in the ‘dead rubber’ Champions League clash at Valencia in the hope of working up some interest from a club to buy him.
Parames says Mourinho was not behind the signing of Pogba from Juventus, who he brackets with Mario Balotelli, the often wild and hot-headed Italy striker the United boss had to handle at Inter Milan.
Parames wrote: “It’s no coincidence that both have already been severely criticised by several coaches.
“Of course some will ask whether the person who hired them did not know what their personalities were like.
“Yes is the answer, but sometimes there are reasons beyond sports that lead the clubs, and not always the coaches, to gamble on hiring them.
