The pair were blamed for Germany’s disastrous World Cup flop in Russia this summer, with the pressure intensifying after they were relegated from the top division of the Nations League.
England are flying under Gareth Southgate and preparing for a Nations League semi-final against Germany’s group winners Holland.

“Every time I go back to Germany I say ‘Other countries are more interested and more curious, they look to us but they do other things better’.
“And the results from the youth teams in England shows the reward for the education and the investments English football is making.
“So we are a little bit jealous. The first team is a very interesting young team. They are not right at the top now but they can go forward.
“And I’m also happy for the English fans. They have suffered a lot in the past 50, 60 years!”
