The midfielder had taken the corner short to a teammate, who stopped it dead before Carter whipped the ball in, but was adjudged to have been offside after taking the corner.
Due in part to Blackpool not putting men on the posts and the goalkeeper taking up an advanced position in the box, Carter was the closest player to the goal line and therefore in an offside position.

Another made an unfavourable comparison between the officials and his girlfriend, and said: "So it’s not just my girlfriend that doesn’t know the offside rule, the officials at Solihull don’t know it either."

The rules do not state the ball needs to be moving forward for offside to be given, meaning the eagle-eyed assistant was correct
The game ended in a 0-0 draw, meaning Solihull will enter the hat for the third round, with the rest of the second round fixtures due to be played over the weekend.
