ENGLAND legend Ashley Cole has been released by LA Galaxy despite being heaped with praise for his impressive season.
The club decided against renewing the 37-year-old's contract that had expired at the end of the MLS campaign.

LA Galaxy had only just released a compilation video of Cole's best moments throughout the course of the campaign and he was named the supporter's player of the season.
But despite his form, it wasn't enough to earn the Premier League favourite a new contract.
Cole, who was pictured recently using snus with his long-term girlfriend, joined LA Galaxy in 2016 following an illustrious club career for Arsenal, Chelsea and Roma.
He was later appointed captain of the side and went onto make 86 appearances over two seasons.

LA Galaxy released eight players in total after failing to make the MLS Cup playoffs.
Cole, who has 107 England caps to his name, will now need to decide on his next move in football.
The American side have confirmed that striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on the roster for next season despite reports linking him with a move back to Europe.
Zlatan, 37, has made no secret of AC Milan’s interest with reports in Italy claiming a loan stint back at the San Siro is closed to being agreed.
